What's New - Update for this Week at LUMC


FAVORITE FOODS ON THE FIRST - First Sunday of each month.  LUMC is asking all families and individuals to bring non-perishable food items to LUMC for the Community Food Pantry.  We encourage those with children to get your children involved by having them pick out their "favorite" item in your home food pantry to donate to those in need.  Food donations can be put in the shoppng cart in the Welcome Center.  The Canal Winchester Food Pantry serves hungry families in Canal Winchester, Lithopolis, and Carroll.  

FREE BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS - First Sunday of each month.  Pam Sprang, LUMC's Parish Nurse, will now be offereing free blood pressure screenings for adults on the first Sunday of each month.  The screenings will be done in the Wesley Room following each worship service.  No appointment necessary.

ADULT CHOIR - The Adult Choir is finished with rehearsals until September.  There is a sign up sheet on the bulletin board outside the sanctuary for summer "special music" open to anyone who would like to provide their own musical talent over the summer. 

WEDNESDAY NIGHT COMMUNITY DINNERS - May, 23, 5:30 p.m.  We encourage you to invite friends, neighbors, acquaintances etc. to come for a time of  food and fellowship.  There is no cost for the meal.  Donations are accepted but not expected.
    
DIAPER DRIVE
- In honor of all Mothers, Family Events Ministry will host a diaper drive to donate items to a local organization collecting for those in need during the month of May.  Please place your donation of diapers, wipes, lotion, etc. in the baby crib found in the Wesley Room.

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE - May 26, 7:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.  Give the gift of Life!  Call the church office or sign up on the sheet in the Welcome Center on the bulletin board.  Free Cedar Point tickets available for the first 40 donors!

DORCAS CIRCLE BROOM SALE - May 27.  The Dorcas Circle is selling brooms ($7) and wisk brooms ($4).  The brooms will be available for purchase on May 27 in the Wesley Room or contact Pat Meloy before or after May 27 to purchase one directly from a Dorcas Circle member.  Proceeds go to purchase material to make blankets for shut-ins.

GRADUATION SUNDAY - June 10.  The Family Events Ministry Team would like to recognize and give a congratulatory gift to those who will be graduating this year.  If you are a Member or an Attendee of Lithopolis United Methodist church and will be graduating please, indicate so on the back of the yellow Communication Card found in the worship bulletin.

SARAH'S HOUSE OF HOPE - A second house for Grace Haven has been opened.  Like Grace Haven, Sarah's House of Hope is a faith based home for women coming out of the criminal justice system and dealing with drug addiction.  They are in need of donations of new or gently used furniture and household items.  If you have items to donate, please contact Emily Miller, or Grace Haven founder, Loretta Phalen.
