Children have a great deal of fun and learn a lot too! Rock City is open for the FULL HOUR during both services.

If you believe your child is ready for a classroom environment with a little more structured lesson, they are welcome to join us in Rock City. You know your child best!

We welcome you and your child(ren) to the Lithopolis United Methodist Church and our Nursery care program. It is our goal to provide a fun, loving and safe, Christian environment for children.
We have two Nursery Attendants who will be in each nursery area every Sunday on a rotating basis as well as various volunteers to assist. Our Nursery Attendants will help to ensure a familiar and consistent setting for your child(ren)
Parents of children in the nursery are asked to sign children in when dropping them off, and sign them out when picking them up. You will have the option of using a pager, so contact can be made if needed during the worship service. If anyone other than the parent is to pick up a child that arrangement must be made with the Nursery Attendant ahead of time. Please remember to be prompt when picking up your child(ren).
In the event we should need to summon a parent during service, our Nursery is equipped with a pager system. Please note your pager number on the sign-in sheet before leaving. Our Nursery Attendant will be happy to assist you with any questions you have regarding the pagers.

  • Our Nursery is staffed continuously from 8:45–11:45 a.m.
  • We provide the following snacks during nursery time: Cheerios and animal crackers. (Please alert the Nursery Attendant if you do not wish for your child(ren) to receive a snack.)
  • In an effort to reduce germs, we sanitize nursery toys on a weekly basis.
  • A Good Shepherd (hall monitor) circulates throughout the facility on Sunday mornings to check halls and monitor classrooms.
Safe Sanctuaries at Lithopolis UMC means providing every means to insure that all children, youth and adults entering the doors of our church enter a safe environment where they can sense the love of God, grow in their faith, feel comfortable and be safe in all settings.
To that end, our staff and volunteers have participated in a training program and have had background checks. Our congregation, in all of our ministries with children, youth, and adults, is committed to demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ so that each person will be surrounded by steadfast love, established in the faith, and confirmed and strengthened in the way that leads to life eternal.
