Men's Ministry
Men's Breakfast - This takes place on the 3rd Sunday morning each month at 7:30 AM in the Multi Ministry Center. This informal gathering is open to all men and involves food followed by a devotional and discussion of current activities involving our men.


United Methodist Men (UMM) - A gathering of mission-minded men willing to take on whatever tasks need to be done - in their church, community or in the mission field.

Adult Basketball Night (Tuesdays at 7:00 PM)


Adult Volleyball Night (Thursdays at 7:00 PM)


Alpha - This is for anyone interested in finding out more about the Christian faith. Adults of all ages are welcome. This is a 10 week course.


Bible Study - Thursday Morning - This group meets each Thursday at 9:30 AM to share in a variety of Bible topic studies.


Bible Study - Weekday Evenings - There are a large variety of small groups meeting during the year. These studies take place on a variety of evenings. Check special website notes, the weekly bulletin, and monthly newsletter.


Disciple is a program of disciplined Bible study (Disciple I,II,III,IV). This study gives the Old and New Testaments equal time, emphasizing the wholeness and unity of the Bible as the revelation of God.


Emmaus Group - These individuals have been involved in an Emmaus Walk and meet periodically to support each other.


Senior Fellowship - A special meal and program are provided several times a year for anyone in our congregation or community over the age of 65. Medical equipment and transportation available for those in our congregation with temporary special needs.


Softball - Young and older adults. Summer league participation. Check in spring for more information.


Tole Painting - Classes are offered involving a variety of projects. These usually take place on Monday evenings at 6:30 PM.

Women's Ministry
United Methodist Women (UMW) - LUMC has four Circles of the United Methodist Women. They meet together quarterly for a Unit Business/Dinner meeting. This is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ.

The four Circles are:

Dorcas Circle - This Circle meets the 1st Tuesday of each month at one of the member's home or the church at 6:30 PM. This is a very active Circle and they support many missions.

Shalom Circle - They meet the 3rd Monday of the month at the church at 7:00 PM. They find ways to help, participate in. and support several special family mission programs.

Joy Circle - They meet the 2nd Monday of the month at 7:00 PM at a member's home or the church. This group was formed to meet the need and time frame of the working woman. They are involved in several mission programs and find their meetings very joyful and uplifting.

Trinity Circle - They meet the 1st Monday of the month 7:00 PM January to May and August to December at member's homes. This Circle was formed to meet the needs of younger mothers. They are an active group and support several mission projects.


Beth Moore Bible Studies - This started out as a women's only Bible Study, but is now being offered to men as well. They are typically 8 - 10 week classes that are offered on a varied schedule during the year.


Small Groups - Ministry Teams

There are number of ministry options available. If you have an interest in a particular minitry, please let us know.

ACOLYTES – This is an opportunity for students in grades 3rd to 6th. Two helpers carry in the light each Sunday during the 1st service to light the candles on the chancel. They also help bring forward the offering plates.


ALTAR MINISTRY – Individuals help with the various things related to maintaining our altar and providing special arrangements for certain services.


CARE TEAM – This team provides a wide variety of care to various individuals and families in need, such as delivering meals, sending care cards, visiting, prayers, etc. Some other examples include; providing monogrammed blankets to newborns, books to recently baptized children, sending care packages to college students, mailing cards/gifts to those serving in the military, and much more. Their emphasis is on caring for those in need.


COMMUNION STEWARDS – This team helps prepare and clean-up communion once a month, and other various times during the year when communion is served.


CRISIS FUND TEAM – The Bloom Township Crisis Fund group is made up of participating churches in the area, and any interested parties willing to assist those with emergency needs. We provide assistance with such things as groceries, utilities, gasoline, etc. There are various events help support this important mission.


FAITHFUL FAMILIES TEAM – This team was created to help Christian families provide the framework for faith formation for children, youth, and adults by providing resources, leadership, and by being an advocate for the needs of families.


FAMILY EVENTS MINISTRY – This ministry team celebrates our connectedness to one another throughout the year. Events including, Cabin Fever Family Game Night in February, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day as well as Confirmation and Graduation Sunday, recognize those who hold a special place in our church families. An Ice Cream Social in late summer or early fall, the Hanging of the Green in preparation for Christmas, and a Bethlehem Breakfast in December – are some of the ways we celebrate families and our love for one another throughout the year.


FELLOWSHIP TEAM – This team guides and supports the hospitality ministry for our church. Our goal being that all feel warmly welcomed as they participate in our church.

FOUNDATION DINNERS - Various people and various groups work the 1st Monday of each month to help serve meals to those in need at the Foundation in Lancaster.


GOD'S GANG HELPERS – Children in grades 3rd to 5th meet the first Sunday of each month for lunch, games, occasional outings, and a variety of fun lesson plans. Helpers organized food and fun.


GOOD SHEPHERD - Select individuals with Safe Sanctuary training walk through the church during each hour of Sunday morning worship and Sunday School to monitor and assist as needed.

GOOD WORKS - Working with this ministry near Athens, Ohio to provide food, helping serve meals and doing service work of various kinds.

GREETERS - Greeters serve in the Welcome Center each Sunday to greet and welcome all coming to worship.

KID’S CHURCH – This opportunity is for children ages 4 through grade 5. Adult presenters team up to provide a program appropriate for this age group during a portion of the worship service.

KITCHEN SUPERVISORS - A group with training in the use of our MMC Kitchen serve to support various groups and events by being available to assist in the kitchen.  This is a very important job as one of the caretakers of all we have in our MMC Kitchen. It is important that the use of all items be carefully monitored for correct use and cleaning.

MINISTRY WITH THE POOR - Offering fellowship, love and care to those in need. We understand that our job is to love not "fix". We understand that we cannot do everything but we can do something.

MISSIONS TEA
M – This caring team of individuals help with a variety of needs throughout the year, including but not limited to, delivering Christmas & Thanksgiving Baskets full of food, raising money to help support missionaries, mission ministries, and other needs as they arise throughout the year.


MUSIC - ADULT CHOIR – New singers are always welcome to the group. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings, September through May at 7:30 PM. The Choir offers their music ministry during the 9 AM Worship Service.


MUSIC – CHILDRENS CHOIR – LITTLE LIGHTS –
Children 4 years old to 2nd grade practice Wednesday evenings from 7 to 7:30PM. The children sing during worship service on various Sundays throughout the year.

MUSIC – MUSIC TEAM – This band with a variety of musicians and vocalists practices each Thursday evening at 7:00 PM. They share their musical ministry at the 11AM Worship Service.

NEWSLETTER - “Lithopolis Link” - Our monthly newsletter linking the church and home. Articles / information to include in our newsletter should be submitted to the church office by the 10th of each month to appear in the newsletter for the next month. Helpers work to assemble newsletters and prepare for mailing


TECHNOLOGY – SOUNDBOARD OPERATION – Each worship service and each program involves someone operating the soundboard. These individuals require special training.


TECHNOLOGY TEAM – These individuals work to support and develop the technology resources available for our use.


USHERS – These individuals help during each service to welcome people to the sanctuary, provide a bulletin and help them find a place to sit. During the service they assist with the offering each Sunday and also help with communion during Communion Sundays.


VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL – This is a fun activity based community event held during a week in July for children ages 4 to grade 6. There are many opportunities for adults to help.


VISION TEAM – This team meets during the year to review and develop plans for a selection of ministries that meet the varied needs of our people and community.


WEDDING COORDINATOR – These individuals work with couples during the rehearsal and wedding day to help coordinate all the “things” that help make a wedding day special.


WORSHIP PLANNING TEAM – This team works together to help plan and coordinate our Worship Services.

CALVARY CLASS (Any Age)
Location: Church Office
The Calvary Class is made up of women who have raised their children and now want to concentrate on getting more involved in studying the Bible. We share our life experiences which can lead to interesting conversations. We use the Adult Bible Study from Cokesbury, which covers many characters and situations that lead us to a more fulfilling life. We always have room for more in this class. If you don’t have a class – come join us!

FAITH WEAVER CLASS (Any Age)
Location: Room B1 – Lower level
FaithWeaver is an adult class that encourages Bible exploration and discovery which will lead into life application. Bible lessons spark meaningful conversations between kids and parents since each week everyone focuses on the same Bible lesson in age appropriate ways

JOURNEY CLASS (Any Age)
Location: Pastor's Office
The Journey Class invites you to become a “fellow traveler” in the pathway of discipleship. In a caring class atmosphere, we study the Bible in-depth and explore how the truths of Scripture intersect our lives in the present. We purposely engage in interactive experiences to help bring Scripture to life. Our goal is to grow step-by-step as “real-world” followers of Jesus Christ.

SEEKERS CLASS (Any Age)
Location: Chapel
The Seekers is an adult, any age, Bible Study Class that seeks to develop a more intimate relationship with our Creator God and Savior. We base our educational endeavors on the study of Holy Scripture and also utilize a variety of supplemental materials. We seek to understand God’s working in our daily lives as we study both the Old and New Testaments. We enjoy active class participation and discussion format as we share our individual insights, cares and concerns for each other and those throughout the world. We invite you to come and “seek together” with us!

ADVERTURERS CLASS (Any Age)
Location: Lower level lounge
Are you ready for an adventure? Looking for a friendly, casually structured class? Please, come join us for great discussions. We look at passages in the Bible that address our topics of concern today such as stress, swearing, money, jealousy, forgiveness, and many other topics. Through our discussions and prayer, we are able to lift up and support one another with Christian love. If you would like to share in our caring group, we would love to have you give us a try. We are well hidden downstairs in the lounge. So, please ask for directions if you need. A great adventure into God’s plan for your life is awaiting you!
