WELCOME TO LITHOPOLIS UMC. . .

We welcome you and your child(ren) to the Lithopolis United Methodist Church and our Nursery care program.  It is our goal to provide a fun, loving and safe, Christian environment for children ages birth through three-years-old. In addition to our volunteer nursery caregivers, we have two Nursery Attendants who will be in the nursery every Sunday on a rotating basis. In accordance with our Safe Sanctuary policy*, our nursery is staffed by an attendant and volunteer at the first service; attendant and teen helper during Christian Education; and Attendant, adult volunteer and teen helper during second service. Our Nursery Attendants will help to ensure a familiar and consistent setting for your child(ren).

NURSERY SIGN-IN
Parents of children in the nursery are asked to sign children in when dropping them off, and sign them out when picking them up. If anyone other than the parent is to pick up a child, that arrangement must be made with the Nursery Attendant ahead of time. Please remember to be prompt when picking up your child(ren).

NURSERY SAFETY
In the event we should need to summon a parent during service, our Nursery is equipped with a pager system. Please note your pager number on the sign-in sheet before leaving. Our Nursery Attendant will be happy to assist you with any questions you have regarding the pagers. Pagers are required to be taken by all parents.

MISC. NURSERY INFO
  • Our Nursery is staffed throughout the 9:00 service, 10:10 Christian Education time, and 11:00 service.
  • We provide the following snacks during nursery time: Cheerios and miniature pretzels.  (Please alert the Nursery Attendant if you do not wish for your child(ren) to receive a snack.)
  • In an effort to reduce germs, we sanitize nursery toys on a weekly basis.
  • A Good Shepherd (hall monitor) circulates throughout the facility on Sunday mornings to check halls and monitor classrooms.

Safe Sanctuaries at Lithopolis UMC means providing every means to insure that all children, youth and adults entering the doors of our church enter a safe environment where they can sense the love of God, grow in their faith, and feel comfortable and safe in all settings. To that end, nursery caregivers have participated in a training program, have had background checks and have been fingerprinted. Our congregation, in all of our ministries with children, youth, and adults, is committed to demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ so that each person will be “...surrounded by steadfast love, established in the faith, and confirmed and strengthened in the way that leads to life eternal.”  (Baptismal Covenant II, UM Hymnal, 44)
