2018 Ministry Initiatives for LUMC

Our mission

 continues to guide our course:

Inviting people to relationship with Jesus and each other

so lives and communities are changed.

Our vision

for ministry with the whole region around LUMC comes from a recent Leadership Board discussion about discerning God’s vision for ministry here. Our sermon series: “What’s Next?” emphasized a prayerful approach. In addition, staff and practice areas have been involved with prayer and sharing:

“In order to more fully live out the LUMC mission,

a focus on our region will strive to create an effective partnership

with all types of families through connecting, sharing, and equipping.”

Our initiatives
for 2018 are identified to help us live into our mission and vision:
  • Develop age-appropriate, Biblically sound curriculum to connect adult, youth, and children ministries with sermon series
  • Create opportunities/places for inviting more people to worship, serve and develop relationships with Jesus & each other
  • Expand our small group ministries for spiritual and relational growth – initiate new Life Groups and other small group opportunities
  • Grow in generous response to God through stewardship of our time, talents and treasures
  • Expand current and develop new venues for “hands-on” mission and service
(for example: Host a Habitat for Humanity “Wall Build” at LUMC).
  • Develop creative partnership with other community servants to better serve the community and develop relationships with community leaders (for example: work with our local school systems)
